Family Matters@School Parenting Talk - Confidence and Leadership, Developing Social-Emotional Awareness and Leadership Skills with Personality (DISC)

The talk was organised on 21 September and the speaker was Dr Foo Fung Fong, Executive Director of Filos Community Services.  She is a Family Life Educator who is a strong advocate for Family Life and who regularly speaks to schools, community groups and corporate organisations on a range of parenting issues.

We are pleased to receive the following feedback from Ms Maria Vida Sawit, one of the parents who attended the talk and would like to share her comments with you:

"Hi, My husband and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the invitation given to us parents of Secondary 3s for the parenting workshop in Confidence and Leadership, Developing Social-Emotional awareness and Leadership Skills with Personality (DISC) Profiling held on 21 Sept 2013 from 9 am to 12pm.

Although I have already taken this test couple of times in the past, I came to the workshop with an open mind and I looked forward to discovering more about the personality profile of our son.

As the workshop progressed, my husband and I realized many things about our own personalities (we are both a D personality) and the whys and hows are somehow answered.  More importantly, it validated the behaviour of our son at home and school.

We shared this knowledge at home and interestingly, our two younger teen joined the discussion. It became a bonding moment for us as a family which doesn't happen often these days due to our conflicting schedules. Our discoveries will now help us address the issues we face in raising our growing children.
