JUMBLE SALE CUM FOOD FAIR

TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2009

Recess time on the morning of Tuesday, 10 March 2009 was abuzz with students clamouring for bargain items put out for sale by PSG members.  The purpose for this sale is to raise funds for the Parent Support Group (PSG) and its activities.  All items were donated by PSG members and staff of Temasek Secondary School.  A host of knick-knacks such as Hello Kitty handphone pouches, little soft toys and key chains went for as low as 50 cents each.  Notebooks and storybooks from $1 to $5 were a hot favourite.  Handmade costume jewellery pieces were snapped up by students and teachers alike.  Handbags and purses were sold at a fraction of their original prices.

Over at the food tables, students and staff were offered a variety of homemade nasi lemak, hot dogs, curry puffs, fried noodles and fried rice, both halal and non-halal. There were also bubble tea drinks selling at $1.50 each.  All food and drinks were sold out by the end of the second recess!  All in all it was a success, thanks to the support of all staff, students and parent volunteers, especially the 26 PSG members who contributed food and items for the event and helped man the booths.  In total, $1142 was raised, which will go towards the PSG fund. The money will be used to support school activities and also our We Care Awards for students and teachers.
