PARENTING TALK ON HELPING YOUR CHILD

Having the same goal of wanting to help our children excel, a group of parents turned up at the Learning Hub on 14 July 2012. The event was a talk by Mr Alan Yip from Mind Edge on ‘Help your child excel’. There were 45 parents, 3 staff and 3 students.

Alan Yip is the founder of Mind Edge Learning Academy and bestselling author of FUNtastic® Parenting.

His secret to success – Never Missed Anything.
His approach is very interesting and he got all of us responding with enthusiasm.
He not only shared with us ‘The Secrets to Studying Smart’ but also ‘Beyond Academic Excellence’.

One of the many tips we learned from him was how to teach our kids to study smart and maximize their 2 hour study time. We found out that if you allow your kids to play computer games during break-time within the 2 hours or immediately after studying, whatever your kid studied for the past 2 hours will be deleted. They can go for a swim, a run or even take a nap. Anything, as long as the activity does not ‘work up’ their mind.
