PSG in action for Cross-Country 2015

Our PSG team took part in our first Cross-country Orienteering Race at Pasir Ris Park this morning (18 Feb). Our PSG parents formed a team and made it to the finish line with excellent timing! Here are some exciting photos of our parents in action. Fresh air, exercise and good bonding, what a great way to start our long CNY break! :)

  1. well taken photos and apt captions tell a good story. Glad that everyone enjoyed themselves and experienced for themselves first hand the invaluable life lessons that their children learnt through the orienteering activity. May the common experience lead to more conversations at home on the learning.

  2. The orienteering activity can be used as a metaphor to teach students the following 3 life lessons.
    1) running is tiring but becomes enjoyable when it is purposeful which in activity was to locate the checkpoints. Learning point would be our efforts is more enjoyable when we possess a purpose, objective, target etc. 2) some groups were seen running around very fast and a lot.one would have concluded that they have located most of their checkpoints but in actual fact, they has found only 1 checkpoint. Lesson is not to confuse activity with learning. Must do things the correct way.3) a few teams were lost. But when they stay as a team, it is just a short time before they locate the next checkpoint. Lesson is that a team that stays together has a higher chance to overcome obstacles.
