THE LUNAR NEW YEAR CONCERT

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2010

It was my first time attending the Lunar New Year concert on 10 February. There were two performances one for the lower secondary and the one were for the upper secondary level. There were many

performances from Wu Shu, Chinese Orchestra and Chinese Songs and it was enlightening to see the students cheering for their peers all the way throughout the concert.

Nine PSG members including two new members participated in the singing of the lunar New Year songs with the teachers. A nerve wrecking experience I would say because I had to sing the Chinese songs written in English and pronouncing the words was definitely not easy. However, I enjoyed myself so did the rest of them. At the end of the concert, PSG members distributed mandarin oranges to the students.

“The entertaining performances by Temasekians at the Lunar New Year Concert were most impressive. The melodious Chinese orchestral music, the fast-pace wushu performances, the mesmerizingly tuneful acapella voices, the light-hearted dance performances and the combined happy voices of teachers and parents were a delight to watch. This energetic concert certainly displayed the many and multi-talents of the school. It was also heart-warming to see everyone in the school, regardless of race and nationality, coming together and enjoying the celebration. I feel privileged to be a part of this joyous occasion!” said Lai Yoke – PSG member
