Food fare 2008

18 March 2008

18th March was the day when the pupils of the Temasek Secondary School saw a group of aunties and
uncles busy preparing foods , drinks, finger foods and desserts at the canteen. The school’s Parent Support Group (PSG) had organised the Food Fair and Jumble Sales on that  morning to raise funds for the group. The parents who participated in the fair responded the call from the group with enthusiasm.

On that morning, the parents had prepared a great variety of foods to cater to the different appetites of the pupils. There were stalls selling appetizer such as samosa, curry puffs and tidbits. The choices of main courses included fried noodles, fried rice, longton , spaghetti, mee siam and curry chicken. The pupils will not be able to complete their meals without the desserts. There were kueh, fruits and limited edition of cup cakes and cheese cakes that sold at first come first serve basis.  The responses were overwhelming and most of the foods were sold out after the 1st recess for the lower secondary classes.

The participating parents had fun preparing foods and exchanging the recipes during the fair. The pupils were also had chances to try foods other then those sold in the canteen.  It was an unforgettable experience for the parents and also an interesting event for the pupils.
