“Thank you for all the support that you have given us. It is really a privilege to study in Singapore. We really hope to make you proud and we promise to put our heart and soul into everything that we do. Thank you, once again and Happy New Year” from Temasek Scholars 2010. It was with much joy that we received a Thank You card from the Scholars with the above words written on it.
On the 19th of February 2010, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations, PSG organized a Lo Hei lunch to treat the Scholars and they reciprocated with gratefulness. Parent volunteers, as well as Principal, Mrs Ong and several teachers, got together to toss Yu Sheng with sixty Scholars from Asean countries studying in Temasek Secondary. A scrumptious buffet spread followed, which we enjoyed together. It was a new experience for first-time Scholars.
As Mrs Ho Lai Yoke, parent of Sec 1 student who was present, said “This lunch with the traditional festive dish of 'Yu Sheng' is a new experience for some of our overseas scholars' taste buds. Many of the scholars find the 'Yu Sheng' appetiser a culinary delight. For many of them, this is the first time they are tossing and tasting it because back home, they do not celebrate the Lunar New Year with this dish. This meal has certainly enriched not only their appetite, but also their exposure to another Singapore experience!”
