On 16th February, the third day of Chinese New Year, my family had the privilege of hosting the scholars from Temasek Secondary School for a time of celebration. There were thirtyscholars who joined in the celebrations.
We also had the pleasure of having the Principal, Mrs Ong and the teachers in charge, Mdm Ma Yanping and Mr Jared Oh to join us for a time of Loh Hei.
A very simple meal was served , our traditional Hock Chew fish ball soup, fried bee hoon and chicken sausages. For the scholars from India, they had special vegetarian meal from McDonald’s – Prosperity, all thanks to Mr Oh for his suggestion.We would like to thank Mdm Ma and Mr Oh for making the necessary arrangements for this celebration and also to Mrs Ong for her presence inspite of her busy schedule.
“The double cheese burger was good..! It was an entirely different experience which is to be cherished.” commented
Sreevatsan Balaji. “Mr & Mrs Thia are very nice! I think it is a good opportunity to experience a different new year. Thank you!” remarked Liu Yiying.
We are glad that the scholars enjoyed themselves as much as we had enjoyed hosting this celebration for them at our humble home.
