TEACHERS’ DAY CELEBRATION

TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2010

The Teachers’ Day celebration was held on 31st August 2010.  About 8 PSG members, including the Chairperson, Mr G Segar and Vice Chairperson,
Mrs Vicky Thia joined the teachers and non-teaching staff for the celebration. ACES Day was also celebrated at this event.

The Parent Support Group and the School Advisory Committee presented 4 Awards to students, teachers and EAS.  The 4 awards presented were the Most Caring Student Awards (2), the Most Caring Teacher Award and the Most Helpful EAS Award.

The Most Caring Student Award was aimed at students who were commended for his/her conduct and must exemplify care towards his/her peers and the school. In addition, he/she must be an inspiring role model for the students to emulate
and must be kind and put others before himself/herself.

The recipient for the Most Caring Student Award 2010 for the Upper Secondary Level was Adrian Tan Li Huat of Secondary 4/7 and the recipient for the Most
Caring Student Award for the Lower Secondry Level went to Alvah Lee Mingchuan
of Secondary 2/3. The award was sponsored by PSG.

The Most Caring Teacher Award is aimed at acknowledging and rewarding
teachers who through their daily needs and actions, exemplify the values of caring, sharing and showing concern for the academic, moral, social, emotional
and mental well-being of their students.

Five teachers, among the many nominees were shortlisted for this award.
The top nominee to receive the Most Caring Teacher Award sponsored by PSG
was Mrs Marilyn Soh Mei Yee.  The other awardees for the Caring Teacher Award
were:

Mr Wong Chun Chong
Mr Lim Wei Ming
Mr Eddie Tan Chong Seng
Miss Millicent Yap

The Most Helpful EAS Award is given to an Eas who demonstrates exemplary
Character and the school values (Care, Integrity, Teamwork, Performance
Excellence) and has on occasions gone beyond the call of duty.

This year’s recipient of the Most Helpful EAS Award was Mr Ess Cuthbert,
Operations Manager. The award was sponsored by the School Advisory  Committee.

On behalf of PSG, PSG member Mdm Lee Yong Boon, an artist, presented a painting (acrylic canvas) entitled “Togetherness” to the Principal,
Mrs Ong Hong Peng.

Temasek PSG would like to take this opportunity to wish all teachers
“A very Happy Teachers’ Day”.
